Samsung Serif TV

It’s here. The Samsung Serif TV by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec is available to purchase. Are you going to put your name on the waitlist? I’m sure some of us are tempted, for the Bouroullec brothers have chosen to increase the depth of their flatscreen by adding a bottom and top shelf, thus creating more of an object at home amongst our things than a boring, thin, run-of-the-mill black box.

Seen in profile, the TV has the profile of the letter “I” in serif font, hence the name. This profile allows the TV to easily stand on its own upon a shelf or cabinet/credenza or you may use the attached stand to have the TV float on its own- no furniture needed. Three different sizes are available on Samsung’s site, but please note for residents in the US, we’ll have to rely solely on the MoMA Store for the 40-inch.
