NBA Free Agency 2016: The top players

A free agent class to be excited about with two of the best players in the game hitting the market and loads of money available with the new TV deal kicking in.

This is the cream of the crop for 2016…

POINT GUARDS / SHOOTING GUARDS / SMALL FORWARDS / POWER FORWARDS / CENTERS

Unrestricted / Small Forward / 6-9 / Team: Oklahoma City
28.0 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 4.7 apg

Hits free agency for the first time in his prime. Outstanding scorer who can make a contender out of most teams. His departure would devastate Oklahoma City.

Agent: Rich Kleiman
2015/16 Earnings: $21,221,850
Career Earnings: $108,668,918
Player Option / Small Forward / 6-8 / Team: Cleveland
24.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 6.6 apg

Nobody can picture LeBron James leaving Cleveland again. Look for him to sign a humongous deal with the Cavs.

Agent: Rich Paul
2015/16 Earnings: $22,970,500
Career Earnings: $172,770,813
Restricted / Center / 6-10 / Team: Detroit
16.7 ppg, 15.0 rpg

Always had the tools to become a dominant big man in the NBA. He's starting to live up to that potential.

Agent: Jeff Schwartz
2015/16 Earnings: $3,272,090
Career Earnings: $10,659,171
Player Option / Shooting Guard / 6-7 / Team: Toronto
23.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.0 apg

The three-point shot is still not falling at a good rate, but he's playing the best basketball of his career this season. Likely to opt out and sign a max deal somewhere.

Agent: Aaron Goodwin
2015/16 Earnings: $9,500,000
Career Earnings: $39,755,770
Player Option / Power Forward / 7-0 / Team: Chicago

Could be looking at his last big deal in the NBA. Has made clear he's OK with being underpaid as long as he can get another shot at the title.

Agent: Steve Heumann
2015/16 Earnings: $7,448,760
Career Earnings: $171,151,156
Unrestricted / Power Forward / 6-10 / Team: Atlanta

Career Earnings: $77,525,017
Restricted / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: Washington

Career Earnings: $18,652,514
Player Option / Center / 6-11 / Team: Houston

Career Earnings: $167,085,587
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-4 / Team: Miami

Should be an interesting situation in Miami with a declining star (but a star nonetheless) that may not be looking to take another pay cut.

Agent: Henry Thomas
2015/16 Earnings: $20,000,000
Career Earnings: $156,321,666
Unrestricted / Point Guard / 6-1 / Team: Memphis

Career Earnings: $56,204,447
Unrestricted / Center / 7-0 / Team: Miami
13.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 3.9 bpg

Obviously, his 2014-15 performance was no fluke as he's averaging a double-double again. Will dunk and block anything around the basket. Some questions about his focus.

Career Earnings: $32,726,250
Player Option / Power Forward / 7-0 / Team: Dallas

Will be a 38-year-old free agent if he opts out. Based on history, he will not force the Mavericks to break the bank for him. Remains a lethal scorer.

Agent: Holger Geschwindner
2015/16 Earnings: $8,333,333
Career Earnings: $220,371,801
Unrestricted / Point Guard / 6-1 / Team: Sacramento

Career Earnings: $1,352,395

Career Earnings: $28,227,017
Restricted / Center / 6-11 / Team: Golden State Warriors
