Russ Smith beats the D-League scoring record with 65 points

Former Grizzlies guard Russ Smith dropped more points Wednesday night (65) than he did in two seasons in the NBA (53) and beat the scoring record in D-League history. Smith, now with the Delaware 87ers, shot 24 of 42 from the field, yet his team lost to the Canton Charge 129-140.

The D-League record was previously held by current Cavs guard Jordan McRae, who scored 61 points for Delaware in January. He graciously passed the torch to Smith on Twitter.

You can watch all his points here. It’s going to take a while because, you know, it’s 65.
