Michael Beasley has come out firing

Michael Beasley has just eight games under his belt with the Rockets, but he has green light to shoot like he’s been with the team for a long time. The talented forward with the quick trigger is averaging 0.598 shots per minute since he signed with Houston, which puts him ahead of DeMarcus Cousins, Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant and all other NBA players except for two – Boston’s Coty Clarke and former Knick Thanasis Antetokounmpo, both with really small samples having played a combined 12 minutes.

Beasley is not just shooting in bunches. He’s being very effective at it with a True Shooting percentage of 60.7 percent, which would be by far the best in his career. The same can be said about his PER, which is at an elite 27.4. (His previous career-high PER is 17.2).

Having played just 143 minutes, it’s of course a very small sample and hardly sustainable, but pretty telling about how good Beasley has been with the Rockets so far.
