NBA Free Agency 2016: Shooting Guards

A declining star and a young guy that’s primed for a breakout year top the list of best shooting guards available in Free Agency 2016.

POINT GUARDS / SHOOTING GUARDS / SMALL FORWARDS / POWER FORWARDS / CENTERS

Player Option / Shooting Guard / 6-7 / Team: Toronto
23.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.0 apg

The three-point shot is still not falling at a good rate, but he's playing the best basketball of his career this season. Likely to opt out and sign a max deal somewhere.

Agent: Aaron Goodwin
2015/16 Earnings: $9,500,000
Career Earnings: $39,755,770
Restricted / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: Washington
18.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg

We were expecting a breakout season from Beal, but didn't happen. The Wizards will have to pay top dollar to keep him in DC, though.

Agent: Mark Bartelstein
2015/16 Earnings: $5,694,673
Career Earnings: $18,652,514
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-4 / Team: Miami
19.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.8 apg

Could be an interesting situation in Miami with a declining star (but a star nonetheless) that may not be looking to take another pay cut.

Agent: Henry Thomas
2015/16 Earnings: $20,000,000
Career Earnings: $156,321,666
Restricted / Shooting Guard / 6-6 / Team: Orlando
14.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.7 apg

Had a really strong start of the season that he could not sustain. A capable shooter that can help a lot of teams.

Agent: Bouna Ndiaye
2015/16 Earnings: $2,288,204
Career Earnings: $6,556,245
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: LA Clippers
14.0 ppg, 2.1 apg

Still bringing instant firepower off the bench. But how much left in the tank?

Agent: Greg Lawrence
2015/16 Earnings: $5,675,000
Career Earnings: $90,771,497
Player Option / Shooting Guard / 6-6 / Team: Cleveland
12.6 ppg, 2.9 rpg

You will love him and hate him the same game. Looks like a star sometimes, but no consistency.

Agent: Leon Rose
2015/16 Earnings: $5,000,000
Career Earnings: $45,546,390
Player Option / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: New York
13.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg

A three-and-D player that's playing better in New York than he did last season.

Agent: Sam Goldfeder
2015/16 Earnings: $8,000,000
Career Earnings: $43,380,777
Player Option / Shooting Guard / 6-6 / Team: San Antonio
10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.3 apg

Looks rejuvenated this season in San Antonio, which makes us think this might not be his final year in the NBA.

Agent: Herb Rudoy
2015/16 Earnings: $2,814,000
Career Earnings: $111,039,615
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-4 / Team: New Orleans
15.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 2.7 apg

The injury-prone Eric Gordon has not been able to live up to his huge contract, but he would be a serviceable scoring guard for many teams.

Agent: Rob Pelinka
2015/16 Earnings: $15,514,031
Career Earnings: $70,656,507
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: Charlotte
9.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg

His three-point shooting is a little off this season, but Lee would be a solid perimeter addition for many NBA teams.

Agent: Daniel Frank
2015/16 Earnings: $5,675,000
Career Earnings: $27,424,813
Team Option / Shooting Guard / 6-5 / Team: Memphis
5.6 ppg, 2.7 rpg

Indiana's Lance Stephenson was not seen in Charlotte or Los Angeles. Can he bounce back in Memphis?

Agent: Alberto Ebanks
2015/16 Earnings: $9,000,000
Career Earnings: $21,435,000
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-4 / Team: Milwaukee
8.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.1 apg

OJ Mayo has career lows in scoring and field goal shooting, which will not help his case in free agency.

Agent: Rob Pelinka
2015/16 Earnings: $8,000,000
Career Earnings: $46,149,437
Unrestricted / Shooting Guard / 6-7 / Team: Minnesota
10.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg

A very fine perimeter scorer in the NBA in the last decade. He's 33 already.

Agent: Dan Fegan
2015/16 Earnings: $7,085,000
Career Earnings: $78,997,966
