* Damian Lillard led Portland, the team many of us expected to finish last in the Western Conference, to its sixth win in a row, passed Zach Randolph on the Blazers’ all-time scoring list and is getting MVP chants from fans.
Thanks to his All-Star snub and strong play, Lillard is getting more press than pretty much anybody in the league right now. Notice how that typically happens with deserving players who don’t make the All-Star Game. It’s a wave of positivity their way.
Also helping: He’s a nice guy.
* Sam Amick on the troubled (doomed?) marriage between Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets.
* James Harden and Howard star in perhaps the worst alley-oop attempt of the year.
* NBA execs tell ESPN.com’s Zach Lowe the Warriors should indeed go for Kevin Durant this summer. I don’t know about that.
* Michael Beasley may sign with an NBA team near you pretty soon.
* Spurs guard Tony Parker is entering the twilight of his career and he’s loving it.
* Tristan Thompson has nothing but appreciatoin for former teammate Anderson Varejao.
* NBA players with ads on their jerseys? It happened already… during the 2011 lockout. It was plain ugly.
* Mark Cuban to politicians: Good luck killing fantasy sports.
* James Dolan is upset. Get your popcorn ready.
