Chinese player takes cheap shot at Jason Maxiell, runs away from him

Jason Maxiell‘s season in China is one week away from coming to an end with his team Tianjin eliminated from playoff contention. Wednesday, he played against Shandong, who’s jockeying for the No. 1 spot in the regular season, and this happened.

Notice how the Chinese player Wu Ke takes a cheap shot at Maxiell, then wants no part of a likely retaliation and runs away from the bulky big man. It all ends up with Michael Beasley, of all players, calming Maxiell down. Just in case the situation was not surreal enough.

Per RealGM, Maxiell has averaged 19.0 ppg and 11.7 rpg in the CBA. The 10-year NBA veteran will be a free agent once the season ends in China.

According to reporter Nick Bedard, Wu Ke has been suspended 11 games.
