Free agent guard Jason Terry talked on his SiriusXM NBA Radio Show “The Runway” about his options for the summer, especifically about a potential return to the Dallas Mavericks, the team where he lost the NBA Finals in 2006 and won the ring in 2011. Summing things up: He can’t picture that happening.
“It would be a great option for me, No. 1 for my family (since) our home base is in Dallas,” Terry said. “I understand for all things I’ve heard that the Mavericks are going young and so I’m 38 and I don’t fit that bill.”
The 6-foot-2 guard expressed great interest in the possibility of staying with the Rockets, though.
“I’d love to be a part of that process going forward, especially with a new coach like (Mike) D’Antoni, who has a great system,” Terry said.
Terry averaged 5.9 ppg and 1.4 apg in Houston last season.
