It’s safe to say there’s a lot more emphasis and effort on defense with the Lakers this year than there was last season. They have moved from No. 30 (also known as dead last) in 2015-16 to No. 11 in 2016-17 in Defensive Rating. It makes sense when you consider even head coach Luke Walton is busting his butt on defense in practice. Just watch:
