POINT GUARDS / SHOOTING GUARDS / SMALL FORWARDS / POWER FORWARDS / CENTERS
1. Toronto: Jakob Poeltl
Center / 7-1 / Utah / Sophomore
17.2 ppg, 9.1 rpg
Poeltl is well liked by many scouts for his ability to play both ends of the floor and would add depth to the Raptors' frontcourt. It is unclear whether Toronto will be willing to give Biyombo a contract extension as his value on the market is likely higher than his actual value after his amazing Eastern Conference Finals performance. An athletic standout such as Marquese Chriss is another option here if he were to fall, but Poeltl gives them solid value at 9 and depth behind Valanciunas. |
2. Denver: Ivica Zubac
Center / 7-0 / Mega Leks (Serbia) / 1997
6.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg
The Nuggets already have a number of former Mega Leks centers on their roster (Jokic and Lauvergne), and Zubac has a chance to be better than all of them. He figures to go somewhere in this area as a long term, high potential draft and stash pick. |
Center / 7-0 / Vanderbilt / Junior
13.9 ppg, 6.9 rpg
Jones was one of the few players who got a clean bill of health on his medical reports, but he ended up tearing his pectoral muscle in a workout and is now out for the summer league and won't be back until training camp. Jones likely won't slide far despite the injury as he's an athletic big that can shoot it, a hot commodity in today's NBA. |
Center / 7-0 / Nevada-Las Vegas / Freshman
10.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg
Zimmerman is well liked by the Sixers and would provide solid depth to the frontcourt, particularly in the event of an Okafor trade. Some feel he may end up in the 15-20 range however. |
Center / 6-11 / Cibona Zagreb (Croatia) / 1997
13.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg
After losing a heartbreaking Game 7 to Cleveland in the NBA Finals, it's obvious the Warriors need to add more toughness inside. Zizic is one of the more NBA ready players and could possibly provide some valuable minutes in the not-too-distant future. |
Key: (*) Standard salary for players selected with that pick in 2016-17.
