D'Angelo Russell takes one final dig at Byron Scott

LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 30: D'Angelo Russell #1 of the Los Angeles Lakers speaks during a news conference to discuss the controversy with teammate Nick Young before the start of the NBA game against the Miami Heat at Staples Center March 30, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. D’Angelo Russell went to the team’s new training facility Wednesday and was obviously asked about the very refurbished Lakers there. While praising Luke Walton, Russell not-so-subtly took a shot at Byron Scott, the only NBA head coach he’s known and one he constantly clashed with during his rookie year.

“He’s one of the best people I know, as far as off the court,” Russell said of Walton. “We communicate on and off the court as much as possible. I feel like I can call him anytime. He’s not like a head coach that will sit back and just watches his other coaches and colleagues just train other players, he’s always involved.”
