Sports Illustrated has released its very popular and highly controversial Top 100 NBA players ranking. The Blazers are not happy about it. DeMar DeRozan and Isaiah Thomas hate it.
You can have a look here at how players have moved up and down in the list since SI put together its first ranking three years ago.
But first, a few takeaways:
* LeBron James has been No. 1 every year. Kevin Durant has been stuck at No. 2 every time…
* Meaning Stephen Curry has yet to crack the Top 2 even after back-to-back MVP awards.
* Only 51 players have made the Top 100 every year. Aside from James and Durant, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook are the only ones in the Top 10 four times in a row.
* DeRozan gets very little love from Sports Illustrated: The Raptors guard’s best ranking is No. 46 (this season). The year he was selected for the All-Star Game for the first time he wasn’t even listed in the Top 100.
* All teams have at least one player in this year’s Top 100 list. There’s five with five players each: Golden State, San Antonio, Cleveland, Boston and Utah.
Key: Players who made the All-Star Game that year in bold.
