All right, now, we’re in outdoor furniture shopping mode, thanks to the summer heat. If the Hot Mesh Lounge featured yesterday didn’t quite hit the spot, maybe you’ll like the Palissade Lounge Chair by Ronan + Erwan Bouroullec. Why? It’d be easier to ask why not, because then we could agree on your ignorance or lack of design sense* and then our conversation would be over.
The ‘why’ question requires a lengthier explanation, because then we’d have to discuss the low-slung silhouette paired with the welded-steel slat construction, which makes for a comfortable seating position without extraneous padding or fluffy cushions. The linear nature of the slats keeps the overall vibe simple and sleek while allowing water run off when used out-of-doors (inside, the steel would be an excellent contrast against the rest of your soft furnishings). Plus, you just can’t go wrong with color choice, as there’s only a trio of perfectly understated options (light grey, anthracite, or olive- olive being my favorite, oddly enough).
So, are you convinced? Are you going to get one Lounge Chair to accent to your seating area or a whole set to outfit your patio/garden area? There’s quite a few pieces in the collection to tempt the wallet, so, fair warning.

*Just kidding, you are allowed to dislike this collection, but then we can’t be friends**.
**Okay, okay, we can be friends, but be prepared for a healthy argument on what qualifies as good design.
